Today was our first club session, we started with everyone sharing which ICT activity they either really enjoyed or as yet hadnt had a chance to do at Whitehill Junior School. Then Mrs Cooper said we are going to make our own set of Top Trumps cards. As we are first doing this as a whole club activity, we needed to decide what our card set would be, and the categories. We found a fun way to do this by logging onto a web page that Mrs Cooper had set up using Primarypad
Primary pad is a great free tool, that allows a group of people to contribute LIVE to one document. So instead of writing all our ideas down on paper and then someone typing it into word, we can all input into our shared idea. What's more Mrs Cooper can see who contributed what, as you sign into the webpage, so we are sure that everyone has played a part in the planning of our first new project. We can export the pad to a word document to each follow up on our next stage.
Check back for more updates and we hope your new term is going great!

We did encounter a few problems because rather than work in groups some people wanted to work alone, and there are only a maximum of 4 users can log into a (free) primary pad at once.
ReplyDeleteI loved all your ideas and look forward to carrying on with this exciting project next week. It was fun playing Top Trumps at the end too, as not everyone was familiar with the game. They are now!
And thanks to Tim Rylands, for keeping us inspired with ICT, I found out about Primary pad and some uses for it on his blog.
