This week in ICT club we looked at an old typewriter...we learnt why the keyboard that we all use on our computers is laid out the way it is.We now know that the SHIFT key is called that - because on typewriters it physically shifted the carriage up, to type the uppercase letters.
We all had a go on this typewriter we found it quite hard, but fun to use.
We looked at the different keyboards from around the world (today was "International Day" in our school) Some have special characters for the different languages of the world.
